I'm thinking about starting a freelance business but I'm not a fan of freelancing platforms like Upwork or Fiverr. I've heard mixed opinions about them, and I'm wondering if it's possible to run a successful freelance business without using these platforms.

How do I find clients on my own? Is it more difficult to build a reputation without these platforms? Are there other ways to market myself and get paid?

I'm curious if anyone here has experience running their freelance business independently and what challenges you faced.
