Five years ago, freelance platforms had fewer people and less competition for common jobs. Today, almost every skill has thousands of freelancers offering the same service, which makes standing out much harder for someone new. Prices have also dropped in many categories because of this competition. I often think about how different the freelancing journey looks now. Is it harder to start freelancing now than it was five years ago?
