One thing that comes up a lot in freelancing is how often you should be updating a client about a project that is still in progress. Some clients love getting regular check-ins even when nothing major has changed, while others prefer you to reach out only when there is something worth saying. Both approaches make sense depending on the client, but it can be hard to know which one to go with at the start. What has worked best for you, and how do you figure out what a new client actually prefers?
