A lot of freelancers reach a point where they feel the platform fees are cutting too deep into what they earn, and asking a client to pay through a different channel starts to seem like a practical solution. The problem is that almost every major freelance platform has a clear rule against this, and doing it can lead to a permanent ban on both accounts. The platforms see this as a direct violation because it removes the transaction from their system and takes away their ability to earn from it. Have you ever been tempted to suggest this to a client, or has a client ever brought it up to you first?
