It is not a must for freelancers to make use of freelancing tools. But to be honest, it is necessary. The tools will not only make your works easier but also will make it more efficient, making it easier to finish on time and as well secure more jobs within little space of time. It is not necessary telling the clients whether you made use of tools or not in as much it doesn't affect the outputs of the tasks.

Nobody is forcing anyone to use AI tools, but let's be honest. If another freelancer is finishing the same job in two hours and you're taking eight, clients will notice. It's not about must or must not. It's about how much time you're willing to waste doing things the slow way.

There's also a pricing problem nobody talks about. Once clients find out AI tools exist, they start thinking the work should cost less. So if a freelancer uses AI secretly and charges full price, some clients feel cheated. That tension is real and not going away anytime soon.
