This is because there are many people that are now making use of these free ways, which has indirectly reduced the effectiveness.

Now, platforms are more saturated, algorithms have changed, and organic reach has dropped. Most successful affiliates invest in ads, SEO, or influencer partnerships. That said, there's still room for free promotion especially on new platforms like TikTok or by building niche communities. Creativity, consistency, and authenticity matter more than ever.

You're lucky if 5% of your followers even see your post without a boost. That said, it's not totally dead. Micro-communities like Discord, Telegram, or private newsletters still work if you've built real trust. You either pay to play or grind hard on authentic content not just link dumping.
