There is always two sides to issues in SEO. While some people may believe that there is no really an issue with having contents duplicated, they will still go ahead citing the advantages that you may be benefiting from having contents duplicated, the other side may be of the opinion that duplication of contents can have more damage to the SEO. They claim that it can cause drops in ranking.

What do you think? Do you think duplication of contents does not really have any impact on the website? Does it really make a website to be ranked or it makes it to loss its ranking?

Content duplication is still an issue in SEO, but it's not as simple as "you get penalized or not." In reality, Google usually doesn't punish duplicate content directly, but it may choose only one version to rank or sometimes none of them perform well because there's no clear original or added value. So yes, it can indirectly affect your rankings by diluting authority and confusing search engines. However, not all duplication is harmful things like product specs or quoted text are normal. The real focus should be on keeping your main content unique and valuable, while using tools like canonical tags when duplication is unavoidable.

Content duplication is still something to pay attention to, but it is not always as serious as people think. Search engines are better now at understanding similar content, so not every repeated line will cause a problem. The real issue comes when whole pages look the same with no new value added.
