Ask Is charging freelancers to apply for jobs a good idea?

Some platforms now ask freelancers to pay money before they can send a proposal, and I am still not sure how I feel about this idea. It might stop people from sending too many proposals without thinking, but it could also push away new freelancers who don't have extra money to spend. What do you think about this system, and has it worked for you?
 
It is not a good idea because some of the client in mighty go away with your money especially when you are not using platform. The client needs to show commitment first before you start working on his project. You have to be following the right process otherwise you able to end up losing a lot
