It may be difficult to measure growth but for someone that is keeping the right records of his business, it may be easier to do. There are different mechanisms that can be put in place to ensure that there is growth in business.

Customer complaints can even indicate growth if they are about delivery times or stock availability rather than product quality.
 
This is one of the reasons why there should be goal setting. It is important for the business owners to set goals. And they can easily be measuring their growth with the sales. The honest reviews from the customers as well serve as a way of knowing a growing business.
 
First, more people will start buying what I'm selling, like way more than before. If I'm constantly getting orders or running out of stock, that's a good sign. Also, if customers start coming back again and again or telling their friends about me, I'll know I'm doing something right. When I start needing extra help, like hiring someone or getting more supplies, that also shows growth. I'll probably see more likes, comments, or messages if I'm using social media too. And of course, if I'm making more money than before and can even save or reinvest some of it, that's a big win
