You should monitor conversion rates. More conversions mean your campaign drives action. You must analyze unsubscribe rates. Low unsubscribe rates suggest that your audience values your emails. You should gather feedback from recipients. Their responses provide insights into your content's effectiveness. You can use analytics tools for detailed reports. These metrics help you assess the overall success of your email campaign. Success is about meeting your goals and engaging your audience.
 
For me, I'd look at multiple metrics to know if a campaign worked. I remember checking open rate, click rate, bounce rate, and unsubscribes all together. Normally, even if opens are high, low clicks or high unsubscribes show something needs adjustment. Success comes from a combination of engagement, deliverability, and the actions your audience takes after reading.
 
If people are opening your emails, that means your subject line is doing its job. If they're clicking links, they're interested. But the big one is whether they actually take action, like signing up or buying something. Also keep an eye on stuff like people unsubscribing or marking your email as spam; you want those to be low. It also helps to compare results with your past emails so you know if you're improving.
