I am a freelance content writer and my first DMs were way too long. Nobody read them. I am now using a 3 part structure that works better. First, I am opening with a specific compliment about their brand or recent post. Second, I am stating one problem I can solve with a quick example. Third, I am ending with a low pressure CTA like open to a sample? It keeps it short and human.

I want to ask you guys that How should freelance writers structure cold direct message pitches to get replies instead of being ignored?

It sounds like you are on the right track with your new approach to structuring cold DM pitches. Keeping it concise, personalized, and engaging is key to capturing the recipient's attention. Here are some additional tips you might find helpful in structuring your cold DM pitches to increase your response rate:

1. **Personalize Your Opening:** Start by addressing the recipient by name and showing that you've done your research. Mention something specific about their brand, recent post, or achievements to demonstrate that your message is tailored to them.

2. **Identify a Pain Point:** Focus on a specific problem or pain point that the recipient might be facing, and explain how you can help solve it. Use a brief example or case study to illustrate your point effectively.

3. **Showcase Your Value Proposition:** Highlight your unique selling points, such as your expertise, experience, or relevant achievements, to establish credibility and show why you are the right person for the job.

4. **Provide a Clear Call to Action:** End your message with a clear and low-pressure call to action, such as offering to provide a sample of your work or scheduling a brief call to discuss further. Make it easy for the recipient to respond and continue the conversation.

5. **Follow Up:** If you don't hear back after sending your initial pitch, consider sending a polite follow-up message to reiterate your interest and offer your assistance. Following up shows persistence and can sometimes prompt a response.

By following these tips and continuing to refine your approach based on feedback and results, you can improve your cold DM pitches and increase your chances of getting replies instead of being ignored. Good luck!
