How much knowledge do I need to start freelancing?

Freelancers need much knowledge to become successful. But to say the truth, it is not possible to get all the knowledge at once and even in one source. That's why freelancers just need the basic ones that they can be using to know how to negotiate with clients, how to pitch new clients, how to manage task and many other things that I believe they need to know before they can be seen as good freelancers.
