How much does Upwork take from freelancers?

Upworks collects 10% from the freelancers whenever they make or even complete a task. To some freelancers, they will believe that the money being charged is justified. In fact, there are some freelancing platforms that are even collecting more than this charge. They collect more than 20% from the freelancers. That's why some freelancers always charge their clients more to meet up the charges. What do you think about this?

10% seems to be a lot of money since they are not going to collect it to once. They are going to be charging freelance 10% on every task or project they handled and this is not the case with some other platforms. I'm worried your phone on you only need to pay one time payment and be any of the month are you can pay several month ahead

I always tell people to include the platform fee when deciding their price. If you charge too little without thinking about deductions, you might finish a project and feel like you worked for much less than expected.

One thing I like is that you can see the service fee before accepting a contract. At least everything is clear from the start. It gives freelancers a chance to decide if the project is still worth taking or not.
