Ask How many pages should a small business website have?

This question comes up because many people think more pages mean more value. A small business website does not need many pages to work well. Most times, four to five pages are enough to explain things clearly. These pages usually include homepage, about page, service or product page, and contact page. Each page should have clear information and simple language. Too many pages can confuse visitors and slow decisions. It is better to have few strong pages than many weak ones. What number of pages do people believe works best?
 
In my opinion, most people find that a small business website works best with around 4 to 7 well-structured pages, rather than trying to hit a specific number. The key is not the quantity but whether each page has a clear purpose like explaining services, building trust, and making it easy to contact you. Some businesses may need extra pages like FAQs or testimonials, while others can keep it very simple. Fewer but more focused pages usually feel more professional and easier to navigate, which often leads to better conversions.
 
A small business website should only have as many pages as it truly needs to explain what the business does and convert visitors into customers. For some, that might be just a single-page site with sections; for others, a few separate pages are enough to cover services, credibility, and contact details. Adding extra pages without purpose can confuse visitors, so simplicity and clarity are more important than a specific page count.
