I feel a little confused about headline copy. I see so many stores with catchy titles on their landing pages. I don't really know how much it affects conversions on an e-commerce store.

I tried changing the main headlines on a few product pages. I tested shorter versions and longer, more descriptive ones. Some pages seemed to get more clicks while others stayed the same.

Basically, your headline sets the vibe for the whole page
 
If people can click around easily, find what they want without hunting, and get to checkout fast, they're way more likely to buy. But if the menus are confusing, links don't work, or it takes forever to find stuff, most folks will just bounce. A clean, simple structure also makes searching for products a breeze. Bottom line: the easier and smoother the path from homepage to cart, the more people will actually hit "buy now."
