Raising rates is something every growing freelancer eventually needs to do, but many put it off because they are afraid of losing clients they have worked hard to keep. Telling a long-term client that your prices have changed can feel uncomfortable, even when the increase is completely reasonable. Some clients will accept it without a problem, while others may push back or quietly disappear. How did you approach raising your rates with existing clients, and what do you think made the conversation go well or badly?
