Every freelancer knows that dry months happen, even when things are going well. One month you are fully booked, and the next, the messages stop coming. Having money set aside sounds simple, but the actual discipline of saving when income is irregular is harder than it looks. Some freelancers save a fixed percentage of every payment, others build a separate emergency fund, and some try to keep a few anchor clients for steady income. How do you personally prepare for the slow months before they arrive?

One of the best way to prepare for such a situation is to have multiple streams of income. A wise person don't rely on freelance income alone because there are some days or months in which you are going to have less number of orders compared to the one you have in the past.
