There is no a big deal for students pointing out the errors of their coaches. But it may be a big thing if this is done frequently. This is the reason why coaches need to do more assignments not to appear not prepared for the class.

Students can correct, or allow to express themselves, especially if their thought doesn't go on line with the coaches thought. While some may see it as nothing others see as a big deal.
 
It actually feels kind of good because it shows they're paying attention and thinking for themselves. Sure, it can feel a little weird at first but I just roll with it, thank them, and turn it into a teaching moment. Admitting I messed up also shows them it's okay to make mistakes and keep learning. In the end, it makes the whole vibe more relaxed and open. We're all learning together, and catching each other's slip-ups is just part of that

However, a student should know a polite way of calling the attention of the coach to something like that.
