I feel stuck lately and I am not sure if I am managing my store the right way. I have been running it for a while and I know the basics. Still I get confused when I think about how much time I spend on different tasks.

I handle product uploads, customer emails and ads on my own. I tried delegating some small design work before and it went fine. Now I wonder if I should do more.

I want to grow the business without burning out. How do you decide which tasks in your e-commerce business are best suited for outsourcing?

Look at the stuff that eats up your time but doesn't really need you to do it. Things like order processing, customer messages, or keeping inventory updated are easy wins. I also hand off anything that needs skills I don't really have, like pro-level marketing, design work, or tech fixes. If a task slows me down or keeps me from growing, it's usually worth outsourcing. The only things I keep to myself are the core parts of the busines

A simple way to decide what to outsource is to look at what drains your energy, what you're not uniquely good at, and what doesn't directly drive revenue. In most e-commerce businesses, repetitive tasks like product uploads, basic customer service, and ad management are usually the first to delegate because they take lots of time but don't require your personal touch. Since you've already had success outsourcing design, that's a good sign you can gradually hand off other routine work too. The goal is to free yourself to focus on strategy, product choices, and growth so you can scale without burning out.

I look at tasks that are repetitive, time-consuming, or outside my core strengths, like bookkeeping, customer support, product photo editing, or ad management. If a task doesn't directly drive strategy or brand voice, it's usually a good outsourcing candidate. I also ask myself: would paying someone else free me up to focus on growth, like product development or marketing strategy? If outsourcing is cheaper than my time, it's a win.

When considering which tasks to outsource in your e-commerce business, it's important to identify activities that are repetitive, time-consuming, or outside your core strengths. Tasks like bookkeeping, customer support, product photo editing, or ad management are typically good candidates for outsourcing as they can be handled efficiently by external professionals.
