Getting vague feedback is one of the most frustrating parts of freelancing. You do the work based on what little direction you were given, and then the client comes back saying it is not what they wanted. The problem is that they never clearly said what they wanted in the first place. Going back and forth like this wastes your time and can damage the working relationship. How do you handle these situations without things turning into a bigger problem?

This can be a very difficult situation to be in and you have to approach it with professionalism. The first thing is that you need to determine the objective of the client. If one they give you is not clear to you you can ask for a sample of what they want and let them present it to you.
