I'm feeling a little confused about how to really understand my customers. I've been running my e-commerce store for a few months and I know who I want to sell to, or at least I think I do. The problem is I don't have a clear way to collect real data on them.

I added some tracking tools to my site and I'm using the analytics Shopify provides. I also sent out a few surveys and asked for feedback on social media. So far, the responses feel random and I'm not sure what to focus on.

I want to learn more about who my ideal customer is. How do you collect data on your ideal customer on e-commerce store?

Pay attention to stuff like what people click on, what they buy, and how long they hang around. You can also learn a lot from email sign-ups, quick surveys, and even customer reviews. Social media stats help too. Over time, you'll start to see patterns like who's actually buying your stuff and what they like. Once you know that, it's way easier to market to the right people and grow your store.
