On the other hand, when used strategically, interstitial ads can drive higher conversion rates. They can lead to more clicks if placed at natural stopping points in the user journey. The key is balancing user experience with monetization goals to maintain engagement without causing frustration.
 
While interstitial ads are effective for grabbing attention, they can hurt engagement if they disrupt the browsing experience. Users might feel annoyed if the ad blocks content or is hard to close, leading to higher bounce rates. On the other hand, well-timed interstitials with relevant offers can encourage users to interact further. Balancing visibility with user experience is critical—show them sparingly and only when they provide real value to the user.
