I'm new to freelancing, and I want to work in a specific industry, but it feels impossible to get clients. I see experienced freelancers getting jobs, but I struggle to even get noticed. Most businesses seem to prefer people with years of experience.
Should I offer free work at first just to build a portfolio? Or is there another way to prove myself? I've tried cold emails and social media, but I rarely get replies. Maybe I'm approaching it the wrong way.
