Ask How can I identify what stage of the funnel my customers are in?

Knowing where customers are in the funnel comes from watching their actions. People at the early stage usually read posts, watch videos, or follow a page without asking questions. Those in the middle click emails, read guides, or compare options. At the last stage, they ask about price, delivery, or payment. These signs show their level of interest clearly. Tracking simple things like page visits and messages helps a lot. This makes it easier to send the right message at the right time. What signs do others use to judge this?

Email engagement is another strong indicator. If someone opens every email you send and clicks through to read more, they are warming up. But if they ignore your messages for weeks and suddenly click something, that might be a random curiosity rather than serious interest.

Downloading a guide does not always mean someone is comparing options. They might just be collecting free resources with no intention to purchase. Instead of relying only on behavioral signals, try asking direct questions through surveys or quick polls. Sometimes the easiest way to know where someone stands is to let them tell you themselves.

Page visit tracking only tells part of the story because not everyone follows a linear path through your funnel. Some people jump straight to the pricing page without reading anything else, while others spend weeks consuming content before taking any concrete action.

You need to define what actions actually matter for your business instead of tracking everything blindly. For some businesses, it's video watch time. For others, demo requests or consultation bookings are stronger signals. Decide which metrics align with your sales process and focus on those.

You need to be watching closely the contents at each funnel that get more attention. This can be done by using tracking tools. There are some audience that will react to the first funnel but will not have the zeal to go for the other level as a result of not getting convinced.

You can tell the stage by looking at what the visitor is doing on your page. If someone is reading general blog posts or asking basic questions, they are likely at the early stage. But if they are checking product reviews, pricing, or comparisons, they are closer to buying. Watching these small actions helps you understand their intent.
