Pricing has to be worked out before any agreement is made. If a client is paying a rate that barely covers the work, there is no margin left to bring anyone else in. Outsourcing only makes sense when the numbers allow it, not when someone is already cutting close just to win a project.

Payment terms between freelancers need to be separate from the terms with the client. Paying someone only after the client pays creates a delay that can damage trust fast. The subcontractor did the work on time and should not wait because of someone else's invoice cycle.
