Digital Marketing is a sensitive strategy. This means business owners need to be careful while making use of them. There are different ways by which the business owners need to determine the one that they need to make use of. But before I start, I need to let the business owners the main factor that will determine their choices of digital marketing tools, cost effectiveness is the first one. They need to ensure that choose the ones that are not that expensive.
 
The best place to start is by looking at what you already have. Make sure your website is clear and works well on a phone. Then, claim your business profile on Google so people can find your address and phone number. These are the most basic things. They do not cost much money, but they are very important. Once these are solid, you can then think about the next step, like social media.
 
I believe it depends entirely on where your customers are. If you own a restaurant, your customers are probably looking on Google or Instagram. If you sell services to other businesses, LinkedIn might be better. Think about where your ideal customer spends time online. Then, choose one or two of those places to focus on. There is no point in using every tool if your customers are not there to see it.
 
When I started my small shop, I was overwhelmed by all the options. I decided to just focus on one thing: Facebook and Instagram. I learned how to take good photos of my products and post them every day. I did not worry about anything else until I got comfortable. This made it much less stressful. After a few months, I had a small following, and then I felt confident enough to try email marketing.
 
First, figure out what you actually want. Then think about your customers. Where do they hang out online? If they're Googling stuff, focus on SEO or ads. If they're scrolling Instagram or TikTok, social media is a good move. Budget matters too, since some basics like posting on social media or sending emails are cheap and easy to try. You don't have to do everything at once. Start with one or two things, see what works, and go from there.
 
What you want as a business owner and as well the type of audience that you are targeting will surely determine the kind of digital marketing strategies that you will make use of. You can start with the ones that won't cost you much and that you have much knowledge of.
 
The best way is to start with the goal first, not the tools. If a business wants sales quickly, then things like simple landing pages and paid ads may make more sense. If the goal is long-term growth, then content and SEO can be a better starting point. When the goal is clear, it becomes easier to pick the right basics.
