Many affiliate marketers start a site and later realize it looks strange or unusual to people who do not understand the niche. A website that makes perfect sense to someone familiar with a topic might seem very odd to a new visitor. For example, a site focused on unusual pet products or very specific hobbies can feel confusing at first glance. Do others experience this, and how do you handle it? Does it ever affect traffic or sales, or do visitors usually learn quickly once they explore? Sharing stories about first impressions could help new marketers see how creativity and uniqueness can actually attract the right audience, even if outsiders laugh at it.

I run a niche site about portable camping showers, and whenever someone outside of affiliate marketing sees it, they can't stop laughing. They're like, "Wait, you've written *how many* posts about showering in the woods?" To me, it's just another niche, but I totally get how weird it must look to outsiders. It's one of those moments where you have to laugh at the absurdity of it all.

Yeah I remember showing one of my sites to my cousin and he just stared at the screen like, "So people actually click all these buttons?" That's when I realized affiliate sites can look completely normal to us but super weird to outsiders. Mine had comparison tables, random product widgets, popups, and like 20 tabs open during testing. To me it made sense… to him it looked like some hacker dashboard
