YouTube started as a place mainly for entertainment, music, and tutorials, but now it has become one of the biggest tools for affiliate marketing. Many people create product reviews, unboxing videos, or tutorials, and then add affiliate links in the description to earn commissions. This changes how videos are made because the focus is not just on content but also on driving viewers to take action. Some creators even shape their entire channels around promoting products. This raises an interesting question: does affiliate marketing make YouTube more helpful because it connects viewers with useful products, or does it sometimes make videos feel more like ads than real advice? Do you notice when a video is made mainly for affiliate promotion, and does it affect how much you trust the creator?

Definitely! Before I got into affiliate marketing, I used YouTube purely for entertainment watching funny videos or tutorials. But now, I see it as a huge opportunity to share content and drive traffic. I've started creating videos that align with my niche and adding affiliate links in the description. I also pay more attention to how other creators use affiliate links in their videos, it's like I can't unsee it anymore! YouTube has become more of a business tool for me, but I still enjoy it for fun too.

Affiliate marketing has made YouTube way more useful for research, honestly. Before buying anything expensive like a camera or laptop, I watch several review videos to see how the product actually performs in real situations. Yeah, some creators are biased because of affiliate deals, but you can usually spot that pretty quickly.

It's changed how I watch certain types of videos. If I'm watching a product review, I expect affiliate links now. That's just how it works. What bothers me is when creators don't disclose it or pretend they're giving unbiased opinions when they're clearly getting paid. Transparency matters. If someone says upfront that they use affiliate links but still gives honest feedback, I respect that.

Affiliate marketing doesn't affect the way I use YouTube. I have dedicated YouTube channel which I subscribed to so that I visit anytime I want to watch a particular video. If I need to know more about a particular product I simply go on YouTube and search about it in city type of content on them to guide me in making buying decision.

Yes, affiliate marketing changes how YouTube is used a lot because the focus shifts from just views to conversions. Instead of making random videos, the content becomes more targeted around problems people are already searching for. This makes it easier to naturally include helpful product recommendations without forcing anything.

Now, I'm constantly clocking those links in descriptions. If someone mentions a product, I'm scanning for "#ad" or their special code. It's not a bad thing, but it makes me more suspicious. Like, do they really love this weird water bottle, or do they just want that 10% commission? I've also started clicking those links to support creators I trust, so that's cool. But overall, my casual scrolling turned into a part-time detective job. I still enjoy YouTube, but I'm way more aware I'm being sold to
