Does monetising a blog be seen as affliate marketing?

There is a question that has been bothering my mind. I would be glad if the question is answered here. I really don't what to call it if a blog is monetised and the blog's link is shared to different platforms in order to generate traffic.

I always want to believe that before an activity to be seen as affliate marketing, there should be a reward from the website that they are affiliating with.

Can you shed more light on this for me to understand it better?
