Ask Does anyone still click on hashtags, or are they completely useless now?

I still use hashtags sometimes but i don't expect miracles from them again. Back then, you can actually drop a few relevant ones and new people would actually find your post. These days it seems the algorithm are paying more attention to the content itself than one just putting a long list of hashtags. I even notice some people just scroll past the posts that carry too many hashtags because it looks like they want to promote something. Some even look spammy. If the post wasn't able to catch the attention of readers in the first few seconds, hashtags won't save it.

I don't click on hash tags are dead, but people don't click them like 2016 anymore. Unlike before that Hashtags drive discovery by tapping the algorithm now uses them as context clues instead.
What still works is that specific, niche hashtags that tell the platform what your post is about.
