Ask Does Admob pay per click or is it PPV?

I used to have Admob 2 years back, but then one day suddenly they just stopped giving good eCPM. The ads shown in my app were worth next to nothing, so I switched to Facebook Monetisation Manager. I've never regretted switching ad network as FAN is paying me really good eCPM for ads.

Then after the Advanced Bidding compulsion from Facebook, I added Advanced Bidding, and now I'm seeing that MoPub Marketplace is showing really great results too.

ALTHOUGH, I'm having exceptionally high CTR with MoPub for some reason (12.5% for Interstitials and 0.2% for Banners). I remember Admob used to pay me around $0.25-$0.3/click before the fateful day when my revenue dropped by 90% in a day and never picked up.

So I'm wondering if they pay per click these days too, or if that changed?

It's a mix these days. AdMob pays mostly per click (CPC) for certain formats and per impression (CPM) for others, so it's not pure PPV like some adult or popunder networks. That sudden eCPM crash you experienced could've been due to changes in ad demand, ad targeting, or regional bids. Many app owners now use multiple networks like FAN, MoPub, and AdMob to stabilize revenue and avoid big drops. Ad placement, user engagement, and ad type really matter for consistent payouts.

Admob mostly works on a per click basis rather than PPV. They pay when someone actually clicks on the ad, not just when it's shown. That means the more engaging your ad placement is, the better your earnings. PPV or impressions can bring in some revenue, but click activity drives most of the money. I've seen people focus on optimizing placement and app layout so users are more likely to tap ads, and that usually increases income faster than just counting views.
