Does a discount for bulk work help or hurt?

In freelancing, I understand in giving clients the best time, some clients always wish they can be given discounts, and as well some freelancers always give them truly. This doesn't mean much sense if I were ask. We don't need to have discounts for things that much of your time. I don't know how others may feel about my positions. But to be honest, giving discount should be out of the options for the freelancers handling bulk works.
