There was a time that all business owners saw email marketing as the best way they can get more customers. They collected as many as possible emails, sending description of their products to them and convincing them to patronise them.

These days, this has naturally come down. There are now other subtle way of getting customers apart from using e-mails. What is your opinion about this?

I think the reason email marketing feels less powerful is because users have learned to ignore most emails. Spam filters and overloaded inboxes make it hard for messages to reach people. At the same time, new channels like social apps and messaging platforms are growing fast. Email is not dead, but marketers need to adapt with better content, personalization, and timing. Otherwise, it won't create the same impact it used to.

Most inboxes are a mess, and people barely read half the stuff that lands there. If it looks like an ad, it's getting deleted or ignored right away. Social media just feels faster and more fun so way easier to engage with than a long email. Plus, email can feel kind of boring and one-way, like brands are just talking at you. That said, it's not totally useless. Emails still work for updates, deals, or people who already like a brand.
