Ask Do I really need to create videos for my business marketing?

Videos are not compulsory, but they can help many businesses explain things faster. People often prefer watching instead of reading long text, especially on phones. A short video can show how a product works, who it is for, and why it matters. Videos also build trust because viewers can see real faces and hear real voices. This makes a business feel less distant and more real. If writing or images bring results, videos can add support. The goal is clear communication, not following trends. Do videos fit goal today?
 
Videos get more attention than text or images on most platforms right now, but that does not mean you absolutely need them. If your audience prefers reading or if your product is simple to explain with pictures, you can skip videos and still do fine.
 
Creating videos sounds expensive and complicated but it does not have to be. You can record on your phone and edit with free apps if you are just starting. The quality does not need to be perfect as long as the content is useful or interesting. What matters more is whether video fits your brand and audience.
 
You also need to think about where your audience are. If they are on YouTube or TikTok, then yes, videos make sense. If they mostly use LinkedIn or email, written content might perform better. Don't force video into your strategy just because competitors are doing it.
 
The biggest challenge with video is consistency. If you cannot commit to posting videos regularly, you might be better off focusing on content types you can maintain. A few high quality blog posts every month can beat irregular videos that disappear for weeks at a time.
 
That's why it is important to know your audience. Know what they really like. Not all audience really love to watch videos especially because of the data network consumption. Apart from that, it can easily distract the people. Because of that, they prefer writing to get the audience convinced
 
You don't have to use videos, but in today's attention economy, they're honestly one of the easiest ways to connect with people quickly especially on platforms like Instagram or TikTok where users naturally expect video content. If your goal is to explain something, build trust, or show your product in action, video just does that faster and more naturally than text. That said, if your current content (like posts or images) is already working, think of video as a strong add-on rather than a must use it when it actually helps you communicate better, not just because it's trending.
 
Not really, you don't have to create videos to succeed in marketing. Many people still get good results with blog posts, email lists, and simple social media content. If your writing is clear and helpful, it can still bring traffic and sales without any video.
 
I will not believe that video is not compulsory in video marketing. It is called a video marketing for a reason. There is necessity to ensure that you create videos at least to entice the audience. When they see the videos, they will want to know more about the products.
