Ask Do freelance platforms have rules about how long you can pause an active contract?

Most people do not think about this until they are already in a situation where they need to pause work for some reason. Life happens, and sometimes a freelancer or even a client needs to stop work for a while without ending the contract completely. Some platforms allow this, but I am not sure if there are clear time limits on how long a contract can stay paused before something happens to it. What has been your experience with pausing contracts on freelance platforms?
