Planning ahead gives a business a steady rhythm, and audiences tend to respond well to that kind of consistency. When you post only when inspiration comes, there are often long gaps that cause people to lose interest or forget you exist. That said, planning too rigidly can make content feel rehearsed and out of touch with what is happening in real time. A mix of planned content and the flexibility to jump on relevant moments seems to work better than either extreme. Does having a content plan actually make a measurable difference in results?
