I'm kind of confused about whether native ads actually work for driving traffic to Medium or Substack articles. I've seen native ads do well for products and services, but articles feel different.

I ran a few small campaigns sending traffic to my Medium posts. I tried different headlines and images to see what would catch attention. The clicks came in, though the engagement on the articles wasn't as high as I hoped.

I'm still learning how to make native ads fit content platforms like these. Has anyone else experimented with this?

The trick is to make them feel natural. A catchy headline or a little teaser from your article can hook people. Stuff like Taboola or Outbrain can get your content in front of the right folks, and social media native ads on Facebook or LinkedIn work if you target the right audience. Just make sure the article itself is actually good as getting clicks is one thing, keeping people around is what counts.
