Ask Can anyone suggest a registrar for domain redirect with analytics?

I'm doing a small proof-of-concept project and I'd like to buy a cheap domain with which I can do the following:

Redirect the domain to an arbitrary URL at a different domain. eg, user types rslashwebhosting.cx and it automatically takes them to reddit.com/r/webhosting
• ⁠Records how many visits the domain gets

Ideally I'd like to find a registrar that can do this all from a control panel, without my needing to create a HTML page to make the redirecting and analytics happen. Seems like most every registrar offers redirects but I can't find clear info on who has this kind of analytics. I'd really appreciate recommendations for registrars that you know for sure can do this.

From my experience, most registrars do simple redirects but tracking visits is tricky. A good approach is to pick a registrar like Namecheap, Google Domains, or Dynadot because they handle redirects well. Then for analytics, you can either use a UTM link or a tiny URL service that counts clicks. It's a small extra step, but it keeps everything simple without building your own page or server, which is nice for quick experiments like your project.

While they don't directly provide analytics for redirects, you can easily connect the domain to tools like Google Analytics or Matomo to track traffic. If you want more advanced features, Cloudflare is a solid option with built-in analytics and redirection capabilities.
