Working across time zones is something many freelancers do successfully, but it requires planning and clear communication from the start. The problem usually comes when a freelancer tries to be available at all hours to accommodate every client, which quickly becomes unsustainable. Setting specific working hours and communicating them clearly to clients upfront helps a lot. Async communication tools also make it easier to work without needing to be online at the same time. How do you personally manage clients who are several hours ahead or behind your own time zone?
