Ask Can a freelancer work under a fake name and still get paid normally?

Some freelancers prefer not to use their real names online for personal or professional reasons, and I understand why that can feel safer. But most platforms ask for real identity documents at some point, especially during payment setup or account verification. Using a fake name might work for a while, but it seems like it could cause problems when the platform needs to confirm who you actually are. I am not sure how far people have taken this before running into issues. Has anyone tried working under a different name and what happened when verification came up?

Staying anonymous is a big challenge when you want to get paid. Most freelance sites have strict rules about identity. If you use a fake name, you will definitely run into trouble during the verification stage. It is safer to use your own identity from the start of the job.

It is not advisable for you to work under fake name and identity because it is going to hurt you anytime you want to get paid. Imagine you have work your time effort into a big project that fetch you maybe five figures and when it is time for you to get paid from the platform you are asked to provide real credentials to verify your details and you are unable to do so.
