Can a freelancer meet their clients physically?

It is possible that a freelancer can meet their clients on a physical basis. I have seen different freelancers that have met their clients physically and not really on any platform. In fact, many clients always trust freelancers that they met physically than that of online stuff. There is more of trust issues in that one. Where do you prefer to meet your own clients?
