A skilled digital marketer can work in almost any industry because the core skills, things like understanding audiences, writing good copy, running ads, and reading data, apply everywhere. What changes is the subject matter, and that can be learned. Most marketers spend time researching the client's industry, talking to the client, and studying what competitors are doing before they start. It takes more effort at the beginning but it is very possible to do strong work without prior knowledge of a field. Do you think industry experience should be a requirement before a marketer takes on a new client?
