There are some business that cannot succeed except there are plans. In fact, a small business will still need a business plan as it grows or else it may have difficult while growing up. There are different instances where business dwindled just because they didn't have a solid business plan.

However, following to the letters all the contents of business plans is always better than the business plan itself. What do you think about this?
 
Some people just go with the flow and figure stuff out as they go, but having a plan helps you stay on track. It's like a GPS for your business. A plan helps you see where you're headed, handle problems before they pop up, and make smart moves. Plus, if you want investors or a loan, they're gonna want to know you've thought things through. So, while you can make it work without one, having even a basic plan definitely makes things smoother
 
Some people just jump in with an idea, learn as they go, and figure things out based on what actually works. That can be great, especially for small businesses or side hustles where you can change direction fast. Still, not having a plan can make things messy. You might lose track of your goals, mess up your money, or waste time on stuff that doesn't matter. A business plan doesn't have to be fancy or super long, it just helps you stay focused.
 
While it is always good to prioritize business plans, success of a business doesn't have to do with business plans. What determines success of a business is more than just a business plan. Most times, it is about the zeal and dedication of the business owners to carry out the plans.
 
If you are testing an idea quickly or running a hobby business, maybe you don't need a formal plan right away. But once you want real growth or consistent income, planning becomes essential. Without it, you make emotional decisions instead of strategic ones. You spend money without knowing if it will bring results.
 
A business plan isn't always necessary if you already know what you're doing. Plenty of successful entrepreneurs never wrote down a detailed plan before launching. They had an idea, tested it quickly, and adjusted based on what actually happened. This method works when you can afford to fail a few times and learn from mistakes.
 
Not having a business plan is risky, especially if you are new to running a business. You might survive for a while, but when problems show up, you won't have anything to guide your decisions. A plan helps you stay focused and avoid wasting money on things that don't matter.

No, I don't think you can start a successful business without planning. I think planning is essential to any business' success. Without a plan, businesses can flounder and fail. A business plan lays out the roadmap for a business' success and can help keep a business on track when times are tough. Are there successful businesses that started without a plan? Sure. But I don't think it's the norm or that it's something that would be recommended to someone looking to start a business. The risk of failure is just too high without a plan in place.
