Since Upwork takes quite a large percentage from every payment, some freelancers have started charging clients more just to make up for what gets deducted before the money finally reaches their personal account. This can make their rates look higher compared to freelancers on other platforms, even though the actual amount they keep might be the same or even less. Do you think Upwork's fees are pushing freelancers to raise their prices more than they normally would?

Yeah they kind of do. With Upwork taking up to 10% plus processing fees you end up quoting higher just to make the same money. New freelancers feel it the most because clients already want cheap rates. So you either raise prices or accept earning less than the work is worth.
