I've been wondering how all the adult tube sites afford to be free. Adult adshare cpm is far lower than mainstream traffic, and bandwidth costs are a lot.
For example one CDN provider i was looking at costs $0.005 per GB of bandwidth per month. It also costs around $0.02-$0.03 per GB of storage per month.
But an adult video ad cpm probably wouldnt even exceed $1 per 1000 views. That would generate $0.001 per 1k views not including factors like ad block and such. Thats only 20% of the bandwidth cost for that video, nevermind the storage costs of having massive amounts of content uploaded daily. Its around $20-30 per TB per month of storage for this particular CDN.
It seems like if you tried setting up a site and put a bunch of ad networks on it, with video content it would always 100% be a loss. It seems that only banner ads and popunders seem to be profitable.
