Ask Are pop-up ads something we are going to have to live with on the Internet?

One of fav streaming sites has suddenly become unusable due to the incessant pop-ups eveytime you touch anywhere on the page.

Want to press the search button? Pop up. Want to press play? Pop up. Want to scroll down? Pop up.

Mind you I have two adblockers that are up to date on Samsung Internet, including the dns blocker activated. Still there is no joy.

Is this just something I have to get used to? Is that site basically dead for mobile browsing?

I've had the same issue with certain streaming sites on my phone. It seems like pop-ups are now part of their business model, and even the best ad blockers can't always stop them. Some are coded to appear when you touch anything on the page, making the site nearly unusable. At this point, it's either accept the frustration, use a desktop with stronger blockers, or find other sites that aren't full of aggressive pop-ups.

From what I've seen, pop-ups are likely here to stay, at least in some form. Browsers and blockers have made them less annoying and more controlled, but sites still use them because they drive revenue. Publishers often balance pop-ups carefully now so they don't chase visitors away, but completely disappearing is unlikely.
