Ask Are page-by-page URL redirects via Yoast effective?

My company branding is changing and we are migrating the website to a new domain. We don't have huge traffic, ~10k unique visitors/mo, but there are enough links and decent SEO to want to take reasonable steps to preserve it.

I can use Yoast to do whole URL redirects page-by-page.

If I use Yoast to do the page-by-page redirects, do I do that in the wordpress account for the old domain, or the new one?

What I normally do is set the redirects on the old site, not the new one. The reason is simple: when someone visits an old URL, the server on the old domain needs to know where to send them.
