Buying Connects has become a normal part of freelancing on Upwork, but many people end up spending far more than they expect just to send out proposals. Some freelancers apply to many jobs and still hear nothing back, which means the Connects they paid for brought no real return. This raises a fair question about whether the cost of applying matches the actual chances of getting hired. Do you think freelancers are spending too much on Connects without results?

Yes there are a lot of freelancers out there who has spending too much sending proposal through connect to the people on the platform. Instead of making money they are spending money on the platform and to me I feel this is like an extortion. This is the reason why some people end up quitting the freelance after spending several years
