What's stopping new freelancers from acting like professional that they should be?

I don't know if you have noticed this well but I have. I have seen new freelancers that don't act like professional at all. Most of them are scared of losing their clients. Instead of being firm, they act naive. Most clients, especially the experienced ones take this advantage of you. That's one of the issue. Majority of them as well do not learn how to be professional before they start. They are into freelancing just to make money and not really for any other thing necessary.

Fear of losing the client is a big one for me. New freelancers say yes to everything because they think saying no will scare the client away. But that same fear is what makes them look unsure. Clients can feel it too. Confidence comes after you stop needing every single job to survive.

Nobody teaches new freelancers how to talk to clients. School doesn't cover it, YouTube videos skip it, so people just copy whatever they see other freelancers post online. Some of that advice is bad. That's why a lot of new people sound scripted instead of just talking like a normal person would.

Some of them actually don't really know what day are doing with the freelance. They just hear that other people are making money from freelance business and they decided to create an account. With that they don't think of doing it in a professional way so they are just like the rest of the pack
