Using video marketing has now become a new hot cake for getting new members. However, video marketers always get confused on whether to choose long or the short videos whenever they want to market their products.

In long videos, details would be focused on. There would be in depth information about the products while in the short video, it is just straight to the point without wasting the viewers' time.

Which of them is better and why?
 
Short videos are awesome for quick attention grabs on TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube Shorts. They're fun, fast, and super shareable which is perfect for getting your name out there. Long videos, though, are great when you want to explain something, tell a story, or build trust with your audience. If you're running ads or just want people to notice you, go short. But if your viewers already like your brand and want more details, longer videos are the way to go. Honestly, the best move is to mix both
 
Attention spans are shot, and people scroll fast. A 15–30 second hook stops thumbs, delivers one clear message, and fits into a commute or bathroom break. It's cheaper to test, easier to repurpose, and platforms like TikTok/Reels love pushing short content. My casual rule: Short to attract, long to convert. Start with snackable clips, drive curiosity, then link to a longer deep-dive for the warm leads. If budget's tight, short wins.
 
I think neither is automatically better because each serves a different purpose. Short videos are excellent for grabbing attention quickly and reaching new audiences. People can watch them in a few seconds, making them ideal for social media. Long videos, however, are better when you need to explain a product in detail, answer questions, and build trust.
 
From my view, short videos usually perform better when the goal is visibility and engagement. Many people have limited attention spans and prefer content that gets straight to the point. However, when selling products that require explanation or demonstration, long videos can be much more effective.
